Questions about standard units
What comes inside a standard porta potty?
The standard unit has a toilet seat, a urinal, two toilet paper rolls, a hand sanitizer dispenser, a coat hook and a mirror. A translucent roof lets in daylight, so no power is needed. The tank holds blue deodorizer that controls odor between weekly services.
How many people can share one standard unit?
One standard unit serves up to 20 workers on a jobsite under Cal/OSHA's construction rule. For a party, one unit covers about 50 guests for 4 hours. Longer events and events with alcohol need more units. Use the porta potty calculator to check your count.
Will a standard porta potty fit through my side gate?
The standard unit is 43.5 inches wide and 47 inches deep. The driver needs a gate opening of at least 48 inches to wheel the unit through on a dolly. Narrower side yards usually work better with placement on the driveway.
Does a standard porta potty have a sink?
The standard unit has hand sanitizer but no sink. If guests or workers need soap and water, add a separate hand washing station or choose a flushing unit with a sink.
Can I put a lock on the porta potty?
You can add your own padlock to the door hasp to keep the public out overnight. Remove the lock or leave the code on the work order before each service day. A locked unit the driver cannot open is skipped and rescheduled.
